PSAM is seeking an experienced registrar to assist with the management, storage, and preservation of the Museum’s permanent, special and reserve collections. Manages the accessioning of collections, including overseeing the approval process, handling documentation, inputting object records in TMS (The Museum System) and securing photographic images and non-exclusive copyright, numbering artworks, assigning storage spaces, and preparing documentation. Responsible for the administration of the collections management database and digital image assets. Acts as project manager for in-house exhibitions and assists with rights and reproduction requests.
Qualifications: B.A. in art history or related discipline and at least three years of museum registration and collections management experience. Knowledge of professionally accepted collections management standards and procedures including art handling, storage and basic conservation. Knowledge of collections database programs (experience with TMS required) and digital imaging systems. Proficiency in Microsoft Office programs (Word, Excel and Outlook). Must be able to work independently and collaboratively in a team-oriented environment. Strong organizational, communication and interpersonal skills.
