Position Description

Under supervision, assists in the development, operation and coordination of cultural and recreation programs and community center activities; assists in the organization and operation of special events; performs duties as required.

The ideal candidate for this position would be a positive, energetic, creative, passionate, experienced theatre professional with a desire to work with and for the community in a variety of performing arts programs.  A broad knowledge of theatre production is required to produce large mainstage Community Theatre productions on the Lewis Family Playhouse stage, as well as small intimate blackbox-style shows in the Studio Theatre.  It is desirable for the candidate to have a strong community connection to Rancho Cucamonga and/or the Inland Empire and care deeply about providing arts experiences for all ages. Experience in developing performing arts classes and workshops for beginners to the advanced level, including seeking qualified instructors, is a plus.  The successful candidate is expected to engage local community arts groups, schools, and businesses to explore collaborative partnerships to expand arts offerings and opportunities. The candidate should possess clear and effective communication skills, have solid experience in budgeting production and program expenses & revenues, and be proficient in Microsoft Word & Excel.  The candidate should work well in a team environment as well as independently, and collaborate positively with the Cultural Center staff including participating in marketing & fundraising efforts for the community programs.  This position must be available to work irregular hours, particularly when in production, including evenings and weekends.
